L3 Teaching Assistant (SEND Focus)
This apprenticeship develops confident, skilled teaching assistants with specialist knowledge in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Programme Overview
The Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship with SEND focus is designed to develop your skills in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. You'll learn evidence-based strategies for supporting learning, behaviour, and social development while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Entry Requirements
- 1Currently working in a school as a teaching assistant (or similar role)
- 2Minimum 30 hours per week in role
- 3English and maths GCSE (or willing to complete alongside)
- 4Support from your headteacher/line manager
Off-the-Job Training
A minimum of 6 hours per week off-the-job training, including online learning, workshops, coaching, and shadowing. All structured to fit around school timetables.
End Point Assessment
The End Point Assessment includes a practical observation, professional discussion, and portfolio review. A4E prepares all learners thoroughly for EPA success.
