Programme Overview
This apprenticeship develops professional content creators who can confidently use AI tools to plan, create, manage and evaluate content across digital channels. Built on the Content Creator Level 3 standard, the programme focuses on real workplace output, combining creative skills with practical AI applications such as AI-assisted copywriting, design, video, analytics and content optimisation. Apprentices learn how to use AI responsibly and effectively, while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, ethics and commercial awareness. No prior AI experience is required — apprentices are supported from foundational skills through to advanced application in the workplace.
What Your Staff Will Learn
- Plan and develop content in line with briefs, brand guidelines and budgets
- Use AI tools to support ideation, research and content planning
- Create written content for blogs, websites, email and social media
- Produce visual and video content using AI-assisted design and editing tools
- Repurpose content across multiple platforms and channels
- Manage content using CMS and social media scheduling tools
- Understand ethical, legal and data considerations when using AI in content creation
- Build a professional portfolio of AI-enabled content campaigns
Entry Requirements
- 1Suitable for individuals starting a career in content creation, marketing or digital roles
- 2Existing employees who create content as part of their role are also eligible
- 3No prior AI experience required — foundational to advanced support provided
- 4English and maths at Level 2 required prior to End Point Assessment
- 5Be employed for a minimum of 16 hours per week in England
- 6Have the right to work in the UK
Off-the-Job Training
Delivered through work-based learning combining online study, live workshops, and hands-on AI content tasks applied directly in the workplace. Includes training on AI copywriting tools, AI design platforms, video production, CMS systems and social media management. Funded via the Growth and Skills Levy (maximum funding band: £11,000). Non-levy employers contribute £300.
End Point Assessment
End Point Assessment comprises three components: a Multiple Choice Test, a Project Report and Presentation, and a Professional Discussion. Grades: Fail / Pass / Merit / Distinction. Typical EPA period is 3 months following 15–18 months of training. Government funded — £11,000 funding band. Non-levy employer contribution: £300.
