Support individuals of all ages and their wider networks to provide timely support before needs escalate, preventing harm and promoting resilience.

Level 418 monthsFunding: £5,000

Programme Overview

Early Intervention Practitioners work with individuals of all ages and their wider networks to provide timely support before needs escalate. Their role focuses on preventing harm, reducing inequality, and empowering people to take control of their own lives. Practitioners operate across community, education, health and local authority settings, often acting as the first point of contact for families experiencing change, crisis or disadvantage. They deliver early help interventions, connect individuals to services, and ensure the right support is in place at the right time. This apprenticeship develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to act as an effective early intervention practitioner supporting individuals with emerging or escalating needs, advocating for positive change, and enabling access to the right support at the right time.

  • Coordinating multi-agency support by working collaboratively with education, health, social care and voluntary sector professionals to provide joined-up services

  • Delivering early help interventions that empower individuals and families to take positive steps forward, reduce dependency and build resilience

Blended learning approach including online, live workshops and workplace practice. Funded via the Growth and Skills Levy (funding band: £5,000). Levy-paying employers: 100% funded. Non-levy employers: 25% contribution (£1,250).

The EPA comprises two components. Component 1: Observation with Questions — The assessor will observe you teaching and interacting with learners for 90 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of questions.
